Connecting to a Sewer Section
For individuals wishing to connect a building to the District sewer:
To determine if a lower lateral stub is provided to the parcel, complete and submit the following form, or call (916) 786-8555 and inform the Administrative Assistant that you have a question about a sewer stub to your property.
Inquiries should be made to technicalservices@spmud.ca.gov.
If a lower lateral stub is not provided to the parcel, see section 7.08.6 (link to specific page or bookmark in pdf) of the District Standards related to “Taps into Collector Sewer”.
If a lower lateral stub is provided to the parcel, see Section 7 of the District's Sewer Code “Building Sewers” of the District Standard Specifications and Improvement Standards for Sanitary Sewers, which includes all requirements for building sewers.

Repairs to Your Sewer Pipe
Any repair work to a private sewer service outside of a building is the jurisdiction of SPMUD and inspection/approval is required. This inspection ensures that work is performed in a professional manner that is in accordance with District Standards. Any property owner that has a need to perform repairs to the lateral shall:
1. Pay Inspection fees per the Fee Schedule above
2. Contact a District representative to schedule an onsite meeting to determine requirements for repair.
3. Complete and submit the form below, or call (916) 786-8555 and inform the Administrative Assistant that you wish to schedule an onsite meeting for sewer repair.
Inquiries about repairs should be made to technicalservices@spmud.ca.gov.
Inspections shall be in accordance with section 7.09 “Inspections” of District Standards.
