Eric Nielsen, General Manager

South Placer Municipal Utility District is a community-based, customer-owned utility governed by a five-member Board of Directors elected by the registered voters within the district boundaries. The MUD Act requires the Board to hire a General Manager, who acts as the Chief Executive Officer and provides the day-to-day management of the district's operations.

General Manager, Eric Nielsen, has been with the District since 2014.  He has worked for the District as the Superintendent for five years and before that served as the District Engineer for six years.  Eric is a registered Professional Engineer with experience in planning, design, construction, and asset management of wastewater utility infrastructure.  He holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Civil Engineering.  His experience comes from positions held in the public and private sectors.  He is a Certified Special District Manager through the Special District Leadership Foundation and has a California Water Environment Association, Collection System Maintenance Grade 4 Certification.
