The South Placer Municipal Utility District has received the District Transparency Certificate of Excellence issued by the Special District Leadership Foundation (SDLF) in recognition of its outstanding efforts to promote transparency and good governance. To receive the award, the District demonstrated the completion of essential governance transparency requirements, including conducting ethics training for all board members, properly conducting open and public meetings, and filing financial transactions with the State Controller's Office. The Transparency Certificate of Excellence is awarded every three years. The District received this award in 2016, 2019, and most recently in 2022.
SDLF is an independent, non-profit organization formed to promote good governance and best practices among California's special districts through certification, accreditation and other programs.
